Bush to create huge marine sanctuaries

These soft corals and tropical fish were among the marine life found at the summit of an underwater volcano more than 500 feet deep in the Mariana Island Arc, a 900-mile chain of volcanoes in the Pacific Ocean that includes the Northern Mariana Islands. The discovery was made during a 2004 submarine exploration. President George W. Bush on Tuesday will designate three remote Pacific island areas as national monuments that together will make up the largest marine conservation effort in history.
